Consisting of cellulose paper designed from cross-sectional, specially treated flutes, the CoolMaxx Evaporative Cooling Pad (ECP) is capable of absorbing and retaining water to maximize efficiency. This unique design yields a high temperature drop while still operating at a very low pressure drop. The pads are especially engineered for tropical and subtropical climates to combat summer heat. Cellulose honeycomb pads are made of fine high quality and absorbent imported kraft paper.
Water logging is kept to a minimum and no water carry-over occurs as the water is directed to the air inlet side of the pad. On the other side of the chamber, exhaust fans help empty the chamber of hot air. This creates negative air pressure inside the chamber which results in an influx of air through the cooling pads on the other side. As the water absorbs the heat and evaporates, the cooling effect can cause up to 18-20 degrees of temperature drop. This system is also referred to as a negative pressure cooling system.
This is an environmentally friendly cooling method as it does not use chlorofluorocarbons(CFCs). It is also highly economical as it costs 75-80% less than the standard air conditioning systems.
